In small, collaborative groups, we worked with twelve young people currently searching for roles in the built environment, creating a supportive environment to refine their applications. Using a trusty red pen, we dissected their CVs line by line, highlighting strengths and pinpointing areas to tighten or clarify. The Make team shared practical hiring tips, from what catches an employer’s eye to common mistakes that can hold applicants back, offering an honest look at how their recruitment process works. By the end of the session, participants left not only with sharper CVs but also with insider knowledge and renewed confidence for their job search.
